“Yangon City FC were a lot better than we expected. Most clubs do not understand futsal but Yangon City played it the right way,” said U Tin Maung Htay, the chief coach of ACE FC, after the game.
Despite ACE FC taking the lead, Yangon City fought back to score twice as they went into the break 2-1 in front.
But ACE FC came out fighting in the second half as they stamped their dominance to score five goals to overturn the deficit. A late rally from Yangon City was not enough as ACE FC walked home champions for the second year in a row.
“We might have lost the final but we are more than satisfied with our performance,” said Yangon City’s coach, U Soe Moe Nyunt.
“ACE FC have more experience than us and they have many good players but Pisi (from Yangon City) deserved the best player prize.”
