The Independent Ipswich Town WebsiteTrust Looking for Futsal PlayersWed 25th Jul 2012The ITFC Charitable Trust is offering 16-19-year-olds the chance to join their futsal team. Futsal is a fast-paced, small-sided, indoor form of football which places greater emphasis on technical skill and ability in situations of high pressure.
Many top football players, such as Pele, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo, Deco, Cesc Fabregas and Lionel Messi, have played futsal in order to develop their skills.
The Trust is holding two introductory enrolment events at Portman Road in the next few weeks to find a team of 17 male players to represent them in a local league.
The successful players will subsequently become enrolled in a programme which has been developed by the Football League Trust and TVS Education to not only engage in regular futsal training and regionalised games, but also work towards gaining an Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport.
This will be delivered over two academic years and students will need to have A*-C GCSE passes in three suitable subjects.
