Rovers stunned as Barometrics reach futsal final

FC BAROMETRICS U-TENS 13 LECKHAMPTON ROVERS U-TENS 4

FC BAROMETRICS have reached the final of the Danacle Sports futsal knockout cup by beating Leckhampton Rovers in the semi-finals.

The Baros did not perform well at the start and a bubbling Leckhampton side took the lead with a great first goal.

Leckhampton forced Baros back and were unlucky not to score a few more goals.

But Ben Oliver picked up a Tom Chamberlain through ball and equalised.

Then Grant Horton scored an impressive hat-trick with some powerful long-range shooting to put Barometrics firmly back in control.

Chamberlain then scored a great goal, side-footing the ball past the defenders and keeper.

Leckhampton then pulled two more back to make it 5-3.

Ben Drinkall then managed to squeeze the ball past three players on the goal line.

Kai Nicholls' pace and skill saw him make it 7-3 with a rocket of a shot from just outside the box.

Leckhampton rallied but could not break Sam Higgs' and Carl Langdon's pure doggedness as they could not be beaten.

At the start of the second half, Grant Horton launched a missile from the halfway line to make it 8-3. Nicholls then linked well with Sam Smith who returned a perfect pass for Nicholls to make it 9-3.

Drinkall then carved his way past the Leckhampton defence to make it 10-3. Matt Oliver then produced some outstanding play as he produced a hat-trick with some clinical finishing and hard tackling.

Leckhampton pulled another one back to make it 13-4.
