Press TVIranian junior players grab U17 futsal cupIran's national junior futsal team has lifted the trophy for the 2012 International Futsal Tournament for U17 Teams in Zagreb, Croatia, after wining against Brazil’s Minas Tenis team in the final match.
The Iranian sportsmen, who trounced another Brazilian squad, Praia Clube, 9-2 in the semi-final on July 13 to qualify for the final, outclassed the Minas Tenis outfit 6-3 at the Fusio Futsal Center on Sunday.
In the other match of the day, Spanish team CD Murcia routed Croatia’s MNK Fusio 2-0 to stand third.
Iran's Moslem Olad-Ghobad was declared the best player, while Matija Milicic from MNK Fusio was named the best goalkeeper at the end of the 2012 International Futsal Tournament for U17 Teams.
Meanwhile, Emerson from Brazil’s Praia Clube squad was elected as the top scorer with a total of 10 goals, and the fair play award went to Petrarca Padova.
The 2012 International Futsal Tournament for U17 Teams, which began in the Croatian capital of Zagreb on July 13, wrapped up on July 15.
A total of eight teams, from Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Iran, Italy and Spain, had taken part in the tournament.
