This is the first meeting between the two teams, however Costa Rica holds a perfect 7-0-0 against Caribbean nations in CONCACAF tournament play … The Ticos are searching for their first CONCACAF semifinal berth since 2004 as well as a place at the FIFA Futsal World Cup in 12 years … Costa Rica is coming off a 2:1 triumph over Cuba in Group B action on Tuesday, while, the St. Kitts & Nevis lost a heartbreaker to Mexico, 5:4.

CUBA – MEXICO
The two squads have faced-off on five previous occasions with three of them coming at the CONCACAF Tournament … Cuba leads the series 3-0-2, with the last encounter coming at the 2008 event when both teams played to a 2:2 draw in group play … Mexico posted a 5:4 victory over St. Kitts & Nevis in its last outing on Tuesday … The Tricolores have yet to lose a match in CONCACAF play under head coach Ramon Raya, however have never qualified to the FIFA Futsal World Cup … Meanwhile, Cuba lost 2:1 to Costa Rica in the other Group B encounter on Tuesday … This is the first CONCACAF tournament loss by the Leones del Caribe since 2004 … Cuba is looking for its fifth consecutive berth to the FIFA event under the direction of Clemente Reinoso.

‘100’ JUST AROUND THE CORNER
The last encounter of the 2012 Group Stage, Guatemala – USA of Group A, will be CONCACAF’s 100th Futsal Match … Since the first Confederation’s tournament 16 years ago, all the encounters doubled as the qualifiers to five consecutive FIFA Futsal World Cups (Spain 1996, Guatemala 2000, Chinese Taipei 2004, Brazil 2008, Thailand 2012).

THAILAND AWAITS
The four semifinalists of the CONCACAF Tournament will earn the final qualifying berths to the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup that will place in Bangkok and Nakhon Ratchasima, Thailand from 1-18 November … The CONCACAF Representatives will join the following qualified nations to complete the 24-team field: Host - Thailand; Africa (CAF) – Egypt, Libya, Morocco; Asia (AFC) – Australia, Iran, Japan, Kuwait; Europe (UEFA) – Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Ukraine; South America (CONMEBOL) – Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Paraguay; Oceania (OFC) – Soloman Islands.

PANAMA – CANADA
This is third meeting between the two teams, with each winning once during the CONCACAF qualifying round to the 2004 tournament … After Canada won the first-leg, 5:4, Panama posted a 7:1 triumph in the second match to win the series (11:6 on aggregate) and advance to the CONCACAF Final Round … Panama is coming off a 5:2 loss to the tournament host (Guatemala) on Tuesday … Meanwhile, Canada dropped its second consecutive Group A encounter, falling 3:2 to the USA … Both teams still have a chance to reach the Confederation semifinals (and qualify to the 2012 FIFA Futsal World Cup).

GUATEMALA - USA
The 100th CONCACAF Futsal Game (FIFA Futsal World Cup Qualifier), has Guatemala and USA even in the lifetime series 2-2-0 … This is third time both face-off in CONCACAF play with each team winning once … In the last meeting, host Guatemala posted a 4:0 win in the semifinals of the 2008 tournament and secured its berth to the FIFA Futsal World Cup in Brazil … Guatemala extended its tournament unbeaten streak to seven games on Tuesday after defeating Panama, 5:2 … The Chapines are looking for their second consecutive berth (third overall) to the FIFA Futsal World Cup … Meanwhile, the USA ended its 12-game overall losing streak with a 3:2 win against Canada in Group A action … The Stars & Stripes are aiming for their sixth appearance at the FIFA event.
