The AFC.comMF2 futsal training for 2012 startsWednesday, 11 January 2012Kuala Lumpur: The AFC Midnight Football Second Edition (MF2) futsal training session for the year 2012 started on Tuesday in the Kuala Lumpur inner city area of Sentul after a long 2011 year-end break.
The boys and girls who took part in the training session were highly spirited to continue with MF2 as the school term for 2012 started last week.
Midnight Football is the AFC’s community development programme that aims to help guide youngsters going in the wrong direction with football as the main agent of change.
Its first edition which started in 2010 had proved to be a huge success and the second edition, started last year, will conclude in the middle of the year.
The training session head coach, Edwin Roch, said he was proud of the participants’ commitments and discipline, saying they were on time and the attendance was good.
He hoped this positive behaviour instilled by the activities in MF would be a permanent feature in the lives of the participants.
The Programme Coordinator of MF co-organiser Global Peace Festival Malaysia, James Poon, was satisfied with the high motivation of the coaches and participants.
He said he was ready to give more meaningful exposure and educational training to the participants.
Dr. Annathurai Ranganathan, the Head of the AFC Corporate Social Responsibility Department, agreed that there were many positives signs that MF2 had influenced the participants in many ways.
“The participants should continue with their high commitment to the programme and at the same time manage time carefully between their studies and sports,” he advised the participants during the session.
