Serbian futsal team declares players against Azerbaijan

One of the opponents of the national squad of Azerbaijan in futsal at the group stage of Euro-2012-Serbia-has declared the composition for participation in the final stage to kick off in Croatia on 31 January.

Head coach Aca Kovacevic called the following players: Miodrag Aksentievic, Slobodan Yanic, Vladimir Lazic, Mladen Kocic, Vidan Bozovic, Slobodan Rajcevic (all-Ekonomac), Alexander Jivanovic, Vladimir Milosovac, Bojan Pavicevic, Marko Prshic, Jovan Borchevic (all from Marbo Intermezzo), Boriz Cizmar, Nicola Josimovic (both-Kolubara), Milos Milacic (Kopernikus).

On 27 January, the Serbian team in Belgrade will hold a friendly with the national amateur teams from Brazilian San Paolo. The team is to leave for Croatia on 29 January. Serbians will hold their first match against the national team of Azerbaijan on 3 February. In two days Atse Kovachevich’s team will play Portugal.

“We are in the same group with two strong teams-semifinalists of the last European championship”, said the Serbian coach “Thus we give the role of favorites to our opponents. It is even good in a sense, since our footballers play successfully against strong teams.

Azerbaijani team has recently been on the rise. This team has many qualified players. I think the issue of participation in the quarterfinal will be settled in our match with Azerbaijan. This will be a hard and exhausting game”.
