NIC soccer programs to hold tournament for youth

COEUR d'ALENE - The North Idaho College men's and women's soccer teams are hosting the Cardinal Winter Blast futsal tournament for girls and boys on Jan. 21-22 and Jan. 28-29 at Christianson Gymnasium.

The tournament is open to players under-11 to under-14. Futsal is five-person indoor soccer, which is played on a hard court surface and walls are not used.

The boys will play Jan. 21-22, with the under-11 group playing from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the under-12 group from 3 to 9:30 p.m. On Jan. 22, the under-13 group will play from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and then the under-14 group will play from 3 to 9:30.

Girls will play Jan. 28-29. On Jan. 28, the under-13 group will play from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the under-14 group will play from 3 to 9:30. On Jan. 29, the under-11 group will play from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the under-12 group will play from 3 to 9:30.

Cost is $100 per team and registration for the boys is due by Monday. Registration for the girls tournament is due by Monday, Jan. 23.
