Middlesbrough Futsal Flying highBORO’S futsal team are matching their 11-a-side counterparts with their performances so far this season and sit in a playoff place as well, but the playoffs for futsal bring a shot at the national title and Middlesbrough Futsal Club are pulling out all the stops to bring success to Teesside.
With just five national league games remaining, including four at home, Middlesbrough are on course for a coveted playoff spot. In their last three matches Boro have notched an amazing 47 goals, the latest coming away at Liverpool on Sunday where they won 15-3.
It has been a good start to the season for Boro, who have eyes on the national title and a place in Europe, which would mean at least top two in the North and then winning the playoffs against Southern and Midlands opposition.
Boss Damon Shaw has warned though that Boro can’t take a playoff place for granted. "We are hitting form at the right time, but we haven't won anything yet. The next two games are huge and could make or break our season."
Boro host league leaders Manchester, in what promises to be a big game in the playoff race in the next league game on 5th February, followed by Tranmere Victoria on 19th February.
The growing fan base has played a big part in Boro’s form. They have been following Boro Futsal for 12 months now and Boro have gone from mid-table strugglers to title contenders with the backing of the noisy Red Faction and other Boro fans.
You can follow Middlesbrough at www.BoroFutsal.com or get along to Thornaby Pavilion for one of their remaining fixtures and support them on their way to the playoffs!
