Dear futsal friends,
tomorrow is the day! We will open the 12th edition of our annual prizes celebrating the Best Women Player of the World in the year 2011. Taking into account different questions we got during the past days, since the nominees list were released, we thought is worth to provide you with a "better explanation" about what the Futsalplanet.com Awards really are, and how do they "work".

The "Spirit of the Game"
During the past seasons we have always underlined how the Futsalplanet.com Awards were basically and mainly our way to celebrate this magnificent sport, since the first edition held in 2000. Though we're continuously trying to improve it and to "make the party bigger", though we'd love to turn them into "something official", nothing is changed regarding the "spirit". So, we're sorry if somebody haven't got the idea yet: constructive criticisms are more than welcome and taken into account, but if you show lack of respect we're afraid we can't help with it!

Voting or not voting, that's the question
We have got many requests like "how can I vote?" during the past days. Actually since the 2007 edition of the Futsalplanet.com Awards the voting system is not more active, but we can officially announce its reintroduction since the 2012 edition, the year of the Thailand World Cup! We hope that this is gonna be the best ever release of the Futsalplanet.com Awards!
Dedicated juries will be selected and then... may futsal be the winner!

No final ranking
In each category of the UMBRO Futsal Awards 2011 will be announced just the winner, no 2nd-5th places ranking will be included.

Young player category
As pointed out in the past edition, the young player category is not anymore limited to Under 21 players. In this edition we have included athletes who were still 23 years old by 31/12/2011.
