Luca Ranocchiari - Futsalplanet.com editorLegendary achievements are destined to... legends. And
Joan Linares is definitely to be included in this category, if we talk about futsal.
Once upon a time it was
Division De Honor, now is
Primera Division but substantially nothing is changed: that's the spanish futbol sala elite. So history will be written on January 6th in Torrejon De Ardoz, when Carnicer Torrejon and Umacón Zaragoza will play their 17th regular season round game.
No mistake:
Joan will be there to enjoy his
600th game in the highest competition of spanish futsal, in which he scored
586 goals. Sometimes numbers have special meanings.
A golden adventure started in Barcelona about 18 years ago, then more glorious steps with CLM Talavera, Playas de Castellón, Interviú Boomerang, Talavera again (taking back the club to the Division de Honor) and now Zaragoza.
A lot of media are still using soccer players to highlight the futsal spectacle, but we honestly believe that's not the best approach. We belong to futsal and we work for futsal people. Our idols play on the 40x20 pitch... so what should we say now? Just one thing:
ENHORABUENA JOAN and THANKS FOR EVERYTHING! Joan, 600 games in the spanish elite (Photo courtesy: RUBEN LOSADA (FOTOGRAFIARTE)
