Futsal quarter finalists announced

Organizers of the Honiara City Council (HCC) futsal championship have announced the quarter finalists of both the junior category and the men’s open category yesterday.

For the junior category which comprises of the U13 and U14 players, the teams are, Vikings (B), Halloween, Green Valley, Zion FC, K1 FC, Kola Kings, Island Drifters and Rove West Coast.
For the men’s open category only six teams have been confirmed, they are, Northern United, Santos FC, Briscilona, Kuks Town, Vikings Blue and Rove West Coast.

These six teams which have been confirmed for the quarter finals are from pools A, B and C.

Pool D still has two matches to be played which is scheduled to take place tomorrow before finalizing which two teams to enter the quarter finals.

The two matches whom are yet to be played are between Burns Creek and Vodka Cruz followed by the match between Matariu and Bokolo Bittles.

According to the HCC sports development officer, Samson Habu the quarter finals for the junior category will kick off today at the Multipurpose Hall.

Vikings (B) will take on K1 FC at 10am, Halloween and Kola Kings at 10:30am, Green Valley and Island Drifters at 11am and Zion Rove West Coast at 11:30am.

Habu added the quarter final matches for the men’s open category will take place on Saturday December 31.

He revealed that all semifinals will be played on Monday next week and finals scheduled for Saturday January 7.
