The AFC.comLate double salvages point for SyriaSaturday, 10 December 2011Kuwait City: Syria scored twice in the final minute to overcome a three-goal half-time deficit and draw 4-4 with Kuwait in the second round of matches in the 2012 AFC Futsal Championship, West Zone qualifiers on Saturday.
The Group A hosts were firmly in control at the interval as goals from Salem Aman (7th), Abdulrahman Al Taweel (10th) and Salem Al Mekaimi (19th) put Kuwait firmly on course to follow their opening day win over Saudi Arabia with another triumph.
Fahed Sali reduced the deficit two minutes after the interval and Mohammad Estanbolli made it 3-2 in the 35th minute but with Al Mekaimi scoring Kuwait's fourth a minute later it was looking as though the home side would hold on for the three points.
However, Mostafa Faowall netted Syria's third with one minute left to play, during which time Dali got his second and his side's fourth to ensure it was honours even at the Al Qadsia Futsal Stadium.
In the earlier match at the same venue, Saudi Arabia bounced back from their 3-1 loss to Kuwait in their first match with an emphatic 16-1 win over Palestine.
Saudi skipper Abdullah Al Dosary lead the way with four goals (23rd, 23rd, 25th and 38th) while Abdulaziz Al Alouni hit a hat-trick, scoring in the 5th, 27th and 38th minutes.
Doubles were scored by Ashraf Al Maki (19th, 20th), Ahmed Krinshi (29th, 32nd) and Mohamed Al Mujari (38th, 39th) while Abdulrahman Al Owaifi, Yahya Al Shehri and Hassan Al Ghanmi were also on the score sheet with goals in the 3rd, 13th and 31st minutes respectively.
Mohamad Al Osman was on target for Palestine in the 10th minute.

The AFC.comTwo out of two for Lebanon Saturday, 10 December 2011Kuwait City: Lebanon registered their second win in Group B of the 2012 AFC Futsal Championship, West Zone qualifiers on Saturday with an emphatic 5-1 win over Bahrain at the Al Arabi Futsal Stadium.
Mohamed Al Sandi gave Bahrain an early lead but his 2nd minute strike would be the only time the Gulf Kingdom would register on the score sheet.
Ali Tneich equalised in the fourth minute and after Kassem Kawsan's 17th minute effort had given the Lebanese a 2-1 lead at the break Francisco Fernandez's side took control in the second half, with Hassan Zeitoun and Mostafa Serhan hitting the target in the 23rd and 33rd minutes respectively before Tneich rounded off the scoring with his second six minutes from time.
Earlier at the same venue the UAE slumped to their second defeat when the 2012 AFC Futsal Championship hosts, who lost 3-1 to Lebanon in their opening fixture, surrendered a 10th minute lead to go down 4-1 to Iraq.
Bader Ibrahim put the Emiratis in front but their advantage was short-lived, with Mustafa Bachay levelling for Iraq just two minutes later.
Hashim Khalid made it 2-1 for the Iraqis in the 16th minute before second-half goals from Hussein Abd Ali (34th) and Ahmed Duraid (40th) sealed the win.
