What's on Xiamen2011 Happy Football Int'l Tournament final to be held on Friday06/12/2011The second semi-final of the 2011 Happy Football International Tournament saw an exciting match in which a Chinese team clinched a 7:3 victory over a Turkish one on Thursday evening in Xiamen.
The amateur 5-a-side football (which is recognized by FIFA as “Futsal”) league, which had 16 teams taking part this season, was organized by Adriano, an Italian expat who has lived in Xiamen for 16 years.
It was held in the Xiamen Haibin Football Club near Zengcuoan and Xiamen University.
The Chinese team captain Zhang Lei, wearing the No. 16 in the game, showed his dominance with 3 goals before Turkey's No. 7 scored in the 18th minute.
The first half ended at 3:1.
In a fighting start after play resumed, China added 2 more goals in the first 7 minutes of the second half.
Zhang Lei was substituted off after his ankle was injured in a tackle for which a Turkish player received a foul.
Turkey's No.7, a player noted for his strength and great passing ability, scored 2 goals in the game.
Turkish coach Ibrahimovic, who owns a Turkish BBQ restaurant near Xiada’s West Gate, said that his team had had the ability to win, but luck had not been on their side.
Zhang Lei said that he hadn’t expected such a decisive win, and praised his teammates for especially good passing on the night.
China and Africa will compete to be champions in the final, which is set for 7pm Friday (December 9th) and will be played on the same pitch.
