ASB Futsal National LeagueOverviewThe New Zealand Football Futsal National League was introduced in the 2010-11 season to provide top quality competition for New Zealand’s elite futsal players and provide a vital step in the pathway to Futsal Whites selection. It also provides experience for top futsal match officials and offers them a pathway to selection for OFC events.
The league is run over three tournaments, each played in a different venue, culminating in a top four playoff series to find the national champions.
The first season was comprised by futsal clubs from around New Zealand and one international guest but given the integration of futsal into federation programmes, from the 2011-12 season, the ASB Futsal National League will be comprised of federation teams.
Sydney-based Maccabi Hakoah won the inaugural 2010-11 NZF Futsal National League after a 2-0 victory over Capital City Futsal in the major final at ASB Stadium in Auckland in March 2011.
