Puff Adder FC win Arena’s futsal

KUCHING: Puff Adder FC emerged champion at the Arena Sukan’s Under 15 fourth annual junior futsal tournament at Arena Sukan Complex, Jalan Wan Alwi on Saturday.

The team beat U-15 Yayasan Sarawak FC in the final.

It was an all day event with a total of 50 teams joining this event for the Under 15s category

This is the fourth year running for Arena Sukan’s Junior Challenge trophy and was officiated by Assistant Minister of Youth Development Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, who is also Assistant Minister of Housing.

A total of 86 matches were played on a round robin system, and a knockout system in the semi final round.

The second runner up was Gramoxone B and the Fair Play Team winner was Greenjoe United.

The champion walked away with cash RM1,000, first runner-up and second runner-up bagged RM500 and RM300 respectively.

Greenjoe United, being the most sporting won RM200.

The winners were also given medals.

“Through these tournaments, Arena Sukan is offering a platform for the youths to pit their skills against each other and encourage and identify budding futsal players to hopefully provide a pool of talent forSarawaktoo,” said General Manager Mary Chan who can be reached at 017-8030377.

Yesterday saw 33 teams in the Under-12 category competing against each other.
