In their first match of the play-off, Kairat of Almaty took a hard-fought win over the Belgian Club Chatelineau. In the third minute, the Belgian side’s captain Karim Chaibai opened the score. However, Kairat managed to equalise the score before the end of the half and even went ahead thanks to measured shots from Andre and Alesandre. In the early minutes of the second half, Alesandre scored one more goal to extend Kairat’s advantage. However, the Belgian team did not want to give their points away, which is why the final minutes of the match were pretty tense. However, the Belgian team managed to score only one goal, which was scored by the Chatelineau goalkeeper Laercio Buranello. As a result, Kairat took a 3-2 win.
Kairat Orazbekov, President, Futsal Club Kairat
«Being a UEFA Cup participant during six years gives a potential opportunity to play well in the game, fulfill the coach’s instruction correctly and manage your emotions. Our experience, which is larger than that of the Belgian side, helped us a lot.»
