Fingal IndependentPopular Futsal series returnsTuesday November 15 2011THE popular FAI/NDSL Futsal winter league module returns on November 26th. Through ongoing discussions with the progressive NDSL league, the futsal module is now in its fourth year and league officials have made it a compulsory part of the U-8 league season in the North Dublin League. This will ensure the youngest participants within grassroots football will have the opportunity to embrace the fun and skilled nature of futsal. When many a game gets called off at this time of the year, the indoor futsal module will continue. The module will involve 64 NDSL U-8 teams and run on the following dates: 26th November, 3rd December, 10th December, 21st January, 28th January and the 4th February in Gormanston College. The NDSL and the FAI are delighted that under the stewardship of the NDSL that the Metropolitan Girls League will also be involved in futsal and all U-9 girls teams will have Futsal games on the 27th November, 4th December, 11th December, 22nd January, 29th January, 5th February in Loughlingstown Hall. To explain the merits of futsal and give a module overview FAI/FCC Development Officers Paul Keogh and Michael Pender will be hosting a workshop in the NDSL HQ, Oscar Traynor centre on Novemeber 17th from 7.30pm to 9pm. All U-8 boys and U-9 girls coaches and managers are asked to attend or alternatively send a team representative.
