Newark AdvocateRec district offers indoor soccer instruction programNov. 10, 2011The Granville Soccer Academy, in collaboration with the Granville Recreation District, is giving kids a chance to extend their soccer experience. Through November and December, the academy will be hosting Winter Futsal sessions at the Bryn Du Mansion field house.
“Futsal” is an indoor variation of soccer that helps to develop foot skills. The game is played with a smaller and heavier ball, thereby eliminating the kick and run element.
Each session will include a 25-minute drills and skills session followed by 4-on-4 game play in which these skills will be encouraged and practiced.
Sessions will take place Wednesday evenings beginning Nov. 30 through Dec. 21. Classes will be divided into two sessions: third and fourth grades at 6:30 p.m., and fifth and sixth grades at 7:30 p.m. The registration fee is $55.
For additional questions or to register, call (740) 587-1976 or send e-mail to info@granvillerec.org.
