Futsal coaches urged to work together

Thursday, 06 October 2011

Kuala Lumpur: FIFA and AFC Futsal Instructor Tsang Wai Chung of Hong Kong urged the participants of a futsal instructors’ selection course in the Malaysian capital Thursday to work together which will take the game in the continent higher.

Speaking at the closing of the FIFA/AFC Futsal Continental Train the Trainers Selection Course, Tsang said:

“I would like to urge you to work hard and in a team instead of just individually because we are all a team.

“If you work alone only, we will never win because great work is usually achieved in a team as Asia is one big family,” he said.

Twenty-five futsal coaches from the East, Asean and South-Central regions of Asia who dreamed to be Regional Futsal Instructors took part in the course.

Also present during the closing ceremony was Tsang's fellow instructor Hossein Shams (IRN).

Tsang further said that the intense training completed is just a beginning because the game is still new in Asia.

“The intense six days of training I believe are just a beginning as the game is still new in Asia but we have the potential to develop the beautiful game,” he said.

“We all come from different countries and cultures but we managed to share these and the knowledge during the course so that we can equip ourselves to work together better and serve our country, and if we can, also our region and Asia,” added Tsang.

The course was the second edition of the Futsal Continental Train the Trainers series with the inaugural edition held in October last year attended also by 25 participants from 22 countries.

The series of courses is aimed to produce more Regional Futsal Instructors who will work closely with local instructors in the respective regions and countries to ensure the best coaching methodology reaches all parts of Asia.
