Football legends Santokh Singh, Yip Chee Keong at Sandakan Futsal Meet

Football legends Datuk Santokh Singh and Yip Chee Keong will be in this east coast town of Sabah tomorrow to launch the Sandakan Futsal Open.

Twenty-five teams are taking part in the championship, the third in its series, said Sandakan Futsal Centre manager Jeffrey Tan.

He said the presence of the two football greats would allow local fans to meet and exchange views about the beautiful game.

"The championship is also in conjunction with the opening of the futsal centre," he said.

Santokh played for Selangor and the national team in the 70s and was a member of the national team for the 1972 Munich Olympics. Yip, who also played for the country and Selangor in the 70s and 80s, once played for two Hong Kong clubs.

The championship offers RM2,500 in cash as well as trophies, medals and Figos sports attire to the winners.
