4 tradersAMSAC, 2 - Sporting, 4Sporting’s futsal stars were in Santo António dos Cavaleiros this weekend to take on the local side, AMSAC. Although the Lions eventually came away 4-2 winners, it was a stern test against what turned out to be a very determined local side.
AMSAC proved to be a worthy opponent for Orlando Duarte’s side and were constantly looking to go on the attack. In fact, faced by a well organised defence, Sporting struggled to find an opening goal. The team from Alvalade pressed and pressed, but the home outfit constantly forced the play into the wide areas and some decent saves from Ricardo in goal kept the Green and White boys at bay early on. However, some inspired play by Pedro Cary on 11 minutes saw the Portuguese international dance past several opponents before opening the scoresheet.
However, AMSAC rallied and on 17 minutes Barros levelled the scoring after hitting the post a minute earlier.
Three mintues after the break, Pedro Cary again stuck to restore his side’s lead. On 25 minutes Leitão found the back of the net to put the Lions two goals in front, but AMSAC once again countered and Barros secured his brace to bring up 3-2. However, any dream of a home side comeback was dashed late on, as Pedro Cary completed his hattrick to secure a 4-2 win.
