Junior Sports Star: Jack Taseski always game for new football challenges

A LOT of young athletes dream of sporting careers and Jack Taseski is no different.

But what makes the Macarthur Chronicle Junior Sports Star nominee stand out is his determination to find opportunities and make the most of them.

The 14-year-old, of Glenfield, has excelled at both outdoor and indoor soccer since he made his first representative teams with the Macarthur Rams and Campbelltown City Quake Futsal Club in 2007.

Since then he’s ventured out of the region, initially to Penrith, then Bonnyrigg and now Rockdale in search of new challenges and chances to excel.

Proud mum Leesa Taseski says she finds it hard not to biased. “Yes, he is a very good player; he also puts in the training,” she said. The teen trains twice a week with his Football NSW Premier League team, Rockdale City Suns 15s, and on the weekends will often step up after his own game to play for the 18s as well.

He plays a strong game in the midfield.

Taseski captained the Quake under-15s futsal team last season, having established his leadership qualities back in 2008 with the Quake 12s.
