The Super F League – 619futsal, will began operations in the San Diego area earlier this summer and has been flourishing.
Sean Bowers is directing the 619Futsal league and plans on starting a Winter Session in November 2011 as well as a spring session starting March 2012.
Bowers was a member of the U.S. National Futsal Team from 1995-2004. Sean is the most capped player in US Soccer futsal history earning 36 international caps. He led the team as captain of the US squad from 1998-2004. Under his leadership, the US Futsal team won the 1996 & 2004 CONCACAF Gold medal and played in the 1996 World Cup held in Spain and the 2004 World Cup in Taiwan.
“After 10 amazing years playing futsal against the top national teams in the world, I wanted to bring my experiences to my hometown of San Diego," said Sean Bowers. "619futsal will provide a futsal league through which players of all ages and skill levels will have the opportunity to develop the technical side of their game.”

• In 2009 was ranked #17 most influential soccer persons in San Diego by XKSandiego

“Sean is the kind of person who we love to have with running one of our leagues. He loves the game of futsal and will work hard to develop the sport in his area. Super F League is the only national futsal league sanctioned by US Soccer. Launched in 2004, Super F League offers amateur soccer players an opportunity to play organized futsal in local leagues. It does so by supporting entrepreneurial - minded soccer organizers with hands on guidance in building their leagues. Super F currently has leagues all over the country.
In addition to local leagues, Super F holds regional qualifying tournaments and also has one of the largest national futsal tournaments in the country. Bowers' playing experience inludes the San Diego Sockers 2003-2006 2009-2010 (PASL Champions) and the Kansas City Wizards 1996-1999 where he was Team Captain and "Defender of the Year" for 2 seasons.
Bowers also played on the U.S. Futsal National Team 1995-2004, 36 caps and the 1996 & 2004 Futsal World Cups where he lead the USA to 2nd round in 2004
Bowers was the US Futsal Captain 1998-2004 and the All-Time cap leader 36 cap.
Bowers recently retired as a member of the San Diego Sockers of the Major Indoor Soccer League. He is the only person in NPSL/MISL history to achieve at least 1000 blocks and 1000 points. He was a 2002/2003 MISL All-Star and the league's Defender of the Year with the Baltimore Blast.
Bowers currently coaches for the Arsenal Futbol Club that has won numerous National Championships at various age levels. A native of San Diego, Bowers graduated from Quincy (Ill.) College in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in political science. He also has earned his Masters in Exercise Science from California University of Pennsylvania and his Performance Enhancement Specialist certificate from NASM.
Sean and his wife Maria, married 15 years, have three wonderful kids Aydan (13), Isabella (11) and Gracie (9).
