Ravosai helps Sofitel

The Sofitel team took out the 2011 Nadi Airport Business House Vodafone Futsal Championship on Wednesday.

Nadi rep Eliki Ravosai featured for the Sofitel team.

Sofitel defeated Air Pacific FJ United team 2-0 in the final.

The two teams were locked nil all at half-time.

Air Pacific FJ United striker Elvin Chand was red carded in the fixture.

In the semi-final Sofitel beat VTS/FJIT 1-0 while Air Pacific FJ United upset early favourites Rosie Holidays.

In the quarter-finals Rosie beat Merchant Finance following a penalty shootout, VTS/FJIT downed defending champions Air Pacific FJ Eng by 1-0, FJ United beat Jacks Garments while Sofitel accounted for Jacks 1.

Tranquil won the plate title while Jacks Garments took out the bowl title.

NABH president and tournament organiser Javed Ahmed hailed the event as a success.

"Shalvin from Rosie Holiday's was named as the most valuable player tournament," Ahmed said.

"He showed deft skills and powerful finishing and was much disciplined throughout the tournament."

"I'm very happy with the continuing growth of Futsal in Nadi."

"I was also pleased with the standard and the skills on display throughout the tournament."

"Some of these players in Nadi are good enough to challenge for the Futsal national team if given a chance."
