APRESENTAÇÃO / PRESENTATION

Pedro Dias was born on August 31st, 1968, in Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal. Married with one children, active in Sport since very young, he has practice Basketball, Handball, Football and Futsal at competitive level. It detached himself as athlete in Futsal and Football, having achieved several national titles and appearances at National University team in Futsal. He holds various positions in Portuguese Futsal structure: Portuguese National Television Futsal commentator, Portuguese Coaches Association (ANTF) coordinator for Futsal coaching courses, Futsal National Instructor, member of UEFA Futsal delegates panel since 2003. Pedro Dias was member of FADU foundation committee (1989-1991), elected FADU Vice-President from 1991 to 1993 and President from 1993 to 1995. In 1995 was nominate President of organizing committee of the world University cross country championship (1996) and began is professional career as Rector Assessor for University Sport in Beira Interior University (UBI). Since that, he developed a sport manager career, associated to the management and public administration academic background. In 1997 became Personality of the year in the University Sport, during the 1997 Gala of Portuguese Confederation of Sports. Pedro Dias became FISU Control Commission member in 1996 at FISU executive committee meeting in Palermo, and his mandate was renovated in 2000 until 2003. In FISU 2003 General Assembly, Pedro Dias has been elected member of the Executive Committee, to a four years mandate (2003-2007). In January 2004, UEFA appoint Pedro Dias to became member of UEFA Panel of Delegates for Futsal. In 1998 was invited to work in Minho University Sports Department has Sub-Director of Sports Department, position that he still holds.
