Italy – Finland when we lost something 12-0 and we had to defend so much that when we got the ball, we just had to kick it out of the field and rush to the bench…nightmare. Although it was nice to see it from short distance that how good players the Italians were…
Goal you remember:
My first national team goal against Cyprus in Holland. There were only ten seconds left in the game. I was defender but somehow when we started our attack I happened to be in the top. I came towards the middle of the field and dropped the ball with onetimer to our left winger. Then I turned quickly from the other side of the defender and rushed to the goal. I got good crosspass to the backpost but I didn’t hit the ball very well and it just happened to bounce over the goalies leg into the goal. Still winning goal after all…and as a result I didn’t fit the playing twelve on the next game.
