Phillips started 15 games and played a key role in the Baltimore Blast's 2002-03 MISL championship season. Prior to Baltimore, he played two seasons for the Steamers of the World Indoor Soccer League (WISL), where he left his mark with a 4-0 shutout against the San Diego Sockers in the 2001 playoffs. In 1999, he was named WISL Goalkeeper of the Year as a member of the Portland Pythons. Phillips also played in the Continental Indoor Soccer League (CISL) with the Washington Warthogs and the Las Vegas Dustdevils (1994-95), where he helped win the CISL championship. Phillips has extensive experience from the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL). He played for two seasons (1992-93, 1993-94) with the Harrisburg Heat, one season with the Kansas City Attack (1995-96), and one season with the NPSL Baltimore Blast (1998-99). In addition to his indoor experience, Phillips has played for the Tampa Bay Rowdies of the A-League. He attended Old Dominion University.
