26/05/2006 - 27/05/2006 Futsalplanet News BLIND FUTSAL - INTERNATIONAL BLIND CHALLENGE CUP 2006 STARTED IN BERLIN The International Blind Challenge Cup 2006, bringing together the national blind futsal teams of France, Brazil, England and Spain, started on Friday (26th May) in Berlin, Germany. Organised by SoVD (German Social Union) and DBSV (German Association of the Blind and Partially Sighted), the IBCC 2006 have showcased the skills of the world's best blind futsal players in a one-day tournament at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin, followed by an exhibition event and prize-giving ceremony in the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin's city centre. Coming on the eve of the FIFA World Cup in Germany, it was a one-off opportunity to highlight the skills of blind footballers and promote the sport in Germany and beyond. The IBCC 2006 had the full support of IBSA and the tournament have followed IBSA Blind Futsal rules with some adaptations to the duration of the games.
