First International Futsal Tournament in Teesside, UK

The first ever futsal tournament of its kind in the north east of England will be hosted at the University of Teesside, Middlesbrough. Organised by PESL in conjunction with the Student's Union and the University of Teesside Futsal Club.

PESL have already ran 3 successful tournaments in the UK and for the first time will invite teams from all over the world to take part in an international futsal cup.

The competition will take place in the University's new £7million sports hall from 8-9th April 2006 and will consist of up to 12 teams. The winners will receive a trophy and medals for their squad and there will be prizes for runners-up, 3rd place, plate winners as well as individual awards for player of the tournament, young player of the tournament, golden shoe and more.

Schedule:
8th April 09:00 – 17:00 Group stages
9th April 09:00 – 17:00 Playoff matches
18:00 Closing ceremony / presentation of trophies

Participants:
Open to all futsal teams from Europe and the rest of the world

Format:
Groups of 4 teams with the top 2 teams in each group proceeding to the knockout stages

Match length:
2 x 20 minutes

28th February 2006, the draw for the group stage will take place on Friday 3rd March
