PORTUS87 EURO-CUP international futsal tournament will take place in July 2004, after the Football European Championship (EURO-2004), at the city of Maia, nearby Porto - Portugal.

Played on a weekend, on the 10th and 11th July 2004, it will involve from 8 to 12 futsal teams from all over Europe, and its main objective is to extend the friendship between all football fans present in Portugal for the EURO-2004 and at the same time to enable a space of cultural and sporting meeting between our city and other European cities represented by the participant teams.

We are limiting the event to 12 teams (maximum), with a two-league format in the first day and two different play-off competitions (A and B) in the second day, in order to assure that every team plays a similar number of games.

The event programme is being elaborated, trying to conciliate the competition with turism and cultural visits to Porto - world's heritage of UNESCO and home of several points of historical interest.

There is no entrance fee, but all the hotels are responsibility of the teams (transport, hotel, meals, other expenses), nevertheless we will try to help, by sending 2 or 3 options for accommodation, with preferential rates at local hotels (no need of transportation for the arena field).

National and local press coverage has been secured with several institutional and corporate sponsors also involved. The City Council of Maia (10 minutes from Porto) has offered us a magnificent arena for the tournament with all the facilities for players, spectators and press.

We already have commited teams from Spain, Belgium, Moldavia, Netherlands and England.

Evening: Meeting and welcoming of all participants - Place yet to be defined.

Saturday, 10th July:
12 h. / 19 h.: Groups stage matches - EUROCUP Arena at Maia City centre.
Evening: EUROCUP Party - Tournament Oficcial Bar (Maia).

Sunday, 11th July:

10 h. / 17 h.: Final Classification matches - EUROCUP Arena at Maia City centre.
18 h.: Trophies hand over and Farewell to all participants - Tournament Oficcial Bar (Maia).
