USA World Futsal Championships set for August 2014

The inaugural USA World Futsal Championships will be held in Orlando, Florida this August. The aim is to create the premier youth and adult futsal tournament on the planet with 160 youth teams and 32 adult clubs set to participate.

To help achieve this aim the event will take place in the world class facilities of the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort which is used by many elite athletes. It will also mean the participants have plenty to occupy themselves in their free time with one of the world’s most famous theme parks.

This international tournament will feature five youth categories for boys and girls plus an open adult division. The ages sections will be from 8s to 16s with 16 teams in each of the categories. Alongside the tournament there will be many additional activities including a coaching course, referee course, social activities and a global futsal development symposium featuring famous coaches and players (for example 2014 UEFA Futsal Euro MVP Gabriel Lima).

It is already proving popular with renowned club FC Barcelona already signed up to attend and it is certain to be an excellent showcase of the best youth talent on the planet. The tournament takes place between 7th and 10th August but there will be activities planned from the 4th August.

Accommodation will be provided on site through the official travel provider, Get Travel. They can also arrange flights and park passes if you so wish. This is an experience that is not to be missed but places are limited so should you wish to attend it is recommended you register as soon as possible.
